Musée D’Orsay, Paris

The D’Orsay houses collections mostly French fine and applied art, furniture and architecture as well as sculpture and painting. The building was built as a train station opening 1900, however by the 1970s it had become obsolete and was to be demolished for a replacement. This decision was changed and in 1978 opened as the Musee D’ Orsay housing the best of French art and culture..
